Most beer labels feature representational art. It’s just the nature of the beast. Aaron Troyer makes abstract art for the labels of Seventh Son Brewing in Columbus, OH.
Beer Label Art
I am extremely lucky to be catching Alexandria early in her career. It’s easy to look at her work and see that she has an amazing future in whatever path she takes. I hope she stays in the beer packaging. The shelves of my bottle store would certainly be improved exponentially if she did. Clearly Two Tides Brewing of Savannah, GA saw her amazing potential as well.
Every once in a while, I like to poke around and see what other label art beer writers are looking at and enjoying. Recently, Adam Nason from beerpulse.com recommended that I check out Dean McKeever’s work for Tree House Brewing. He wasn’t wrong – it’s great stuff! Dean is very versatile. As an artist working […]
In case you were wondering what the best beer labels featuring astronauts might be, we compiled this list. After all, thanks to Budweiser, we’ll be brewing in space soon.
In which I interview Jason Burke, another long-time art contributor to the Pipeworks Brewing brand. To say that Pipeworks Brewing is a local gem for us here in Chicago would be a “kick to the stones” to the science of gemology and a wet willy to mineralogy.
A lot has been said about sexist beer labels in the last few years. Considering who our president is, expect things to get worse before they get better. Since then, we’ve played Twitter tag with Hired Guns on a few occasions, especially when a new label masterpiece hits the shelves. Leif Miltenberger was kind enough […]
If you were to tell me that Josh Cockrell was a time-traveling illustrator of fine botanical tomes that had been transported here from a Medieval European alchemist’s laboratory in order to properly document the zymurgical heraldry of Austin’s Jester King Brewery, I’d probably go right back to my beer without batting an eye. Cockrell’s body […]
I’m not sure what YOU were doing during Craft Beer Week, but your favorite breweries (and some you’ve never heard of) were submitting beer labels to the US government for approval. I had some great beers during CBW: Pipeworks Imperial End of Days Pipeworks Over The Line Both 2012 and 2014 Goose Island Bourbon County […]
2016 was a roller coaster of a year. In some ways, the worst year I can recall. We lost so many amazing celebrities, but we also got a kick-ass Star Wars movie! We had to drink infected Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout but also got refunds and fresh, uninfected bottles in November. Here in Chicago, […]
